Why does my dog have extra nails on the side of her paws?

My parents have a 2 year old chihuahua, and I have a 5 month old one. Mine has an extra little nail or claw or whatever you want to call it on the side of her front paws. My parents dog does not. Is she deformed, or were my parents dog’s extra ones removed? It almost looks like he had some at one point but no longer does… anyone know anything about these?

This is normal in a lot of chihuahuas it is called a dewclaw some breeders will have them removed when a pup is born but others leave it up to the owner if they want to leave in some shows if they was born with one it has to be on in order to show it It will not hurt the pet or it does not make it deformed it can get hung over something and bleed so if you are not going to show it the vet can remove it
